STAGE (Set Technology And General Entertainment) is a student-led organization where creativity meets engineering. Members get hands-on experience designing and building interactive stage machines and creating immersive entertainment systems. With a focus on this niche engineering concentration, students have the opportunity to bring any audience-engaging idea to life!

By creatively blending technology, design, and engineering, it transforms ordinary spaces into memorable experiences. From live performances and concerts to theme parks and interactive installations, entertainment engineering molds innovative ideas into engaging, dependable experiences—captivating audiences every step of the way. Our Competition: SMDC
The Stage Machine Design Competition (SMDC) presents students with a design challenge that puts their problem-solving and artistry to the test. With a brand-new prompt released each calendar year, teams navigate design constraints and physical limitations to fabricate a solution that achieves the desired stage effect. Through planning, building, testing, and refining, STAGE fosters a culture of learning and growth, encouraging students to think creatively, take risks, and push ideas beyond the box.

All students have the opportunity to propose an entertainment project. If the concept is deemed feasible, a student assumes the creative director role, and anyone is welcome to join the effort to bring the idea to life. By empowering more students to lead and design, STAGE cultivates an atmosphere where anything is possible. We make the magic happen.

STAGE is building an Escape Room, and it’s FREE!
STAGE’s first big project is an immersive experience, with the goal of solving puzzles to escape. With one hour, will you be able to figure out the mystery in time? This is a family friendly challenge for up to 8 people at a time, and we welcome all miners, friends, and family to participate and have fun together!
